Josh was also very intentional with his jewelry choices for the weekend and leaned toward pieces with sentimental value. For the rehearsal dinner, he donned a gold bracelet and watch from two of his grandfathers. \u201cOn our wedding day, I wore pieces that Olivia had given me that felt like markers of our relationship over the years: a watch gifted to me for my 32nd birthday, a silver bracelet from a quick, memorable trip to Copenhagen, and a pair of emerald studs that Olivia gave to me in the final days before our wedding,\u201d shares Josh.<\/p>\n

The bride found her gown before her wedding dress search ever really began. \u201cI saw the Ophelia dress from Wiederhoeft\u2019s spring 2025 runway show,<\/a> and it was an immediate scroll-pause,\u201d says Olivia. \u201cI remember sending it to my mom, and she was like, \u2018That is the dress.\u2019\u201d She saw the pink gown at Wiederhoeft\u2019s New York studio and immediately loved its marriage of nostalgic and contemporary elements. \u201cSmith McLean\u2014my main point of contact at Wiederhoeft and the most incredible steward throughout the whole process\u2014told me the dress is literally inspired by a garment you\u2019d unearth in a relative\u2019s attic and shake the dust off,\u201d she says.<\/p>\n

The style featured a blush corseted bodice, a pencil skirt, hand-sewn carnations, and a long taffeta train. \u201cI have these strong, pretty consuming pulls towards specific pieces of fashion, art, and design, and if I have that pull, there is nothing else,\u201d explains Olivia. \u201cSo with the Ophelia, once I saw it, there was no other dress.\u201d To accessorize, the bride wore her engagement ring\u2014which tied to Josh\u2019s family history\u2014and rings from her grandmother on her other hand. \u201cAcross the weekend, it was so nice to look down and feel like I was wearing two lineages on my hands at once,\u201d Olivia adds.<\/p>\n

\u201cOnce the dress was set, color and beauty became something to really calibrate,\u201d says the bride. \u201cMy makeup artist Sydney Utendahl<\/a>\u2014who\u2019s also a close friend\u2014and I dialed in every choice together, from skin to makeup tones to hair, to make sure everything sat in the same world.\u201d This even led to Olivia coloring her tresses ahead of the celebration. \u201cI have naturally auburn hair but I deepened it into a richer cherry tone to play off the blush,\u201d she shares.<\/p>\n

Later in the night, Olivia would swap her pink gown for a very different aesthetic. \u201cFor the after-party, I wanted a moment of transformation,\u201d she says. \u201cI\u2019d been following Stockholm-based knitwear designer Mega Mikaela<\/a> for a minute and was obsessed with her almost chainmail-esque weaving. We worked together over a few months to design a custom, hand-woven two-piece made from white yarn and silver steel washers.\u201d The final look was so heavy it couldn\u2019t even sit on a hanger. However, the bride says, \u201cIt was incredible to dance in.\u201d<\/p>\n

The wedding weekend arrived, and the guests\u2014all dressed in shades of ivory and cream\u2014gathered with the couple at Caf\u00e9 Spaghetti for the rehearsal dinner. \u201cWe did an all-white dress code\u2014cheekily and very much on purpose\u2014given that the restaurant has a menu full of red sauce,\u201d says Josh. The bride wore a Joyce Bao<\/a> lace and velvet top and a damask Genevieve Devine<\/a> skirt for the night. \u201cI\u2019m not really an archival or vintage person,\u201d she shares. \u201cI\u2019d much rather shop from the Central Saint Martins freshman class,\u201d she adds. The evening was full of food, connection, speeches from the couple\u2019s siblings, and music. \u201cOur close friend Scout Larue Willis, who\u2019s an incredible musician, performed live with a guitarist, singing two of my favorite love songs\u2014Al Green\u2019s \u2018Simply Beautiful\u2019 (the song Olivia once told her, in college, she\u2019d be getting married to) and Lauryn Hill\u2019s \u2018Tell Him,\u2019\u201d adds Josh.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
