{"id":2505,"date":"2026-04-08T13:07:47","date_gmt":"2026-04-08T13:07:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/owspakistan.com\/?p=2505"},"modified":"2026-04-08T13:07:47","modified_gmt":"2026-04-08T13:07:47","slug":"mubi-co-financing-pact-investment-fund-ipr-vc-1236711203","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/owspakistan.com\/?p=2505","title":{"rendered":"Mubi Strikes Multi-Year Co-Financing Pact With Fund Manager IPR.VC"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\t<a href=\"https:\/\/variety.com\/t\/mubi\/\" id=\"auto-tag_mubi\" data-tag=\"mubi\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Mubi<\/a> has struck a multi-year co-financing pact with Helsinki-based investment fund manager <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/ipr.vc\/\">IPR.VC<\/a> to bankroll a slate of prestige European auteur-driven films. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tTheir partnership is kicking off with Pawel Pawlikowski\u2019s \u201cFatherland\u201d and Felix Van Groeningen\u2019s \u201cLet Love In,\u201d both of which are tipped for the Cannes Film Festival. <\/p>\n<p>As part of the deal,\u00a0IPR.VC\u00a0becomes a strategic investor in future theatrical projects developed and produced by Mubi, in addition to \u201cFatherland\u201d and \u201cLet Love In.\u201d  <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tIPR.VC, which already has similar deals in place with A24 and MK2, will help Mubi mitigate risk in a volatile distribution landscape where fewer indie films are profitable, regardless of the cast and director\u2019s pedigree. The company recently released Lynne Ramsay\u2019s \u201cDie, My Love\u201d which competed at Cannes and has so far failed to ignite the box office. In spite of challenges, Mubi has ramped up its film production and distribution of high-end auteur cinema in the last couple years, and secured $100 million investment from Sequoia in 2025. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\t\u201cFatherland,\u201d which stars August Diehl and Sandra H\u00fcller, is a film that Mubi played a leading role in. The outfit produced it alongside Mario Gianani and Lorenzo Mieli for Our Films; Ewa Puszczynska for Extreme Emotions, Jeanne Tremsal and Edward Berger for Nine Hours, Dimitri Rassam for Chapter2 and Lorenzo Gangarossa for Circle One.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tThe film is set during the Cold War and centers on the relationship between writer Thomas Mann and his daughter Erika.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\t\u201cFrom day one, Mubi has been about making space for great cinema and the people who create it,\u201d said <a href=\"https:\/\/variety.com\/t\/efe-cakarel\/\" id=\"auto-tag_efe-cakarel\" data-tag=\"efe-cakarel\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Efe Cakarel<\/a>, Mubi\u2019s founder and CEO. \u201cThis alliance with\u00a0IPR.VC, a team that truly understands the value of ambitious, filmmaker-driven work, gives us greater capacity to support filmmakers, protect the integrity of their vision, and bring bold, distinctive films to audiences around the world.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tCakarel said \u201cFatherland\u201d and \u201cLet Love In\u201d reflect \u201cexactly the kind of cinema\u201d they \u201cwant to keep championing.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tSince launching a decade ago, IPR.VC\u00a0has financed more than 65 productions across three funds, with the European Investment Fund committing \u20ac25 million to its latest vehicle, called Fund III.<\/p>\n<p>Andrea Scarso, IPR.VC\u2019s managing partner, said, his banner\u00a0\u201cinvests in premium storytelling with long-term cultural impact and commercial value, with a strong commitment to supporting European auteurs and globally relevant voices.\u201d <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\t\u201cIn an era of accelerating media consolidation, Mubi stands out as the leading independent global platform for curated cinema, driven by editorial integrity rather than scale or technology-first logic,\u201d he continued.
