{"id":2626,"date":"2026-04-15T14:18:11","date_gmt":"2026-04-15T14:18:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/owspakistan.com\/?p=2626"},"modified":"2026-04-15T14:18:11","modified_gmt":"2026-04-15T14:18:11","slug":"cdrmm7lxyrdoat_mediumrssat_campaignrss","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/owspakistan.com\/?p=2626","title":{"rendered":"Wiaan Mulder: Essex signing returns to South Africa temporarily"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\"><b class=\"ssrcss-1xjjfut-BoldText e5tfeyi3\">Essex all-rounder Wiaan Mulder has returned home to South Africa for personal reasons and will miss the County Championship match against Warwickshire, which starts on Friday.<\/b><\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">The 28-year-old was due to play the club&#8217;s first seven red-ball games and also be available for the early part of the T20 Blast, which begins next month.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">He has scored 48 runs and taken one wicket in Essex&#8217;s two games so far, in which they beat Hampshire by an innings before losing by 10 wickets to Somerset.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">The club say he has only left Chelmsford &#8220;temporarily&#8221; and they are &#8220;fully supportive&#8221; of his decision.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">An update on his return will be &#8220;announced in due course&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Mulder has played 65 internationals for South Africa across all three formats, scoring 1,696 runs and taking 72 wickets. <\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Last year he helped them become world Test champions, defeating Australia by five wickets in the final at Lord&#8217;s. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Essex all-rounder Wiaan Mulder has returned home to South Africa for personal reasons and will miss the County Championship match against Warwickshire, which starts on Friday.
