\n After winning a best actress Oscar for her role in \u201cEverything Everywhere All At Once\u201d last month, Yeoh is preparing to step back into the Star Trek universe to reprise her role as Emperor Philippa Georgiou in the new \u201cStar Trek: Section 31\u201d movie.\n <\/p>\n

\n Yeoh was first introduced as the character in 2017, when the Emmy-winning \u201cStar Trek: Discovery\u201d<\/a> TV series debuted on Paramount+.\n <\/p>\n

\n Paramount+ and CBS Studios announced the news on Tuesday. Yeoh will also serve as an executive producer on the project.\n <\/p>\n

\n Yeoh said in a press release<\/a> that she is \u201cbeyond thrilled\u201d to reprise her role in the \u201cSection 31\u201d movie, which she says \u201chas been near and dear to my heart since I began the journey of playing Philippa all the way back when this new golden age of \u2018Star Trek\u2019 launched.\u201d\n <\/p>\n

\n \u201cTo see her finally get her moment is a dream come true in a year that\u2019s shown me the incredible power of never giving up on your dreams. We can\u2019t wait to share what\u2019s in store for you, and until then: live long and prosper (unless Emperor Georgiou decrees otherwise),\u201d she continued.\n <\/p>\n

\n It truly has been a year of dreams coming true for Yeoh, who made history as the first woman of Asian descent to win an Oscar in the best actress category in March. \u201cEverything Everywhere All At Once\u201d took home seven Oscars<\/a> that night, including Yeoh\u2019s big win and the top prize for best picture.\n <\/p>\n

\n \u201cSection 31\u201d will showcase Yeoh\u2019s character as she joins a secret division of Starfleet and is \u201ctasked with protecting the United Federation of Planets and faces the sins of her past,\u201d according to an official synopsis.\n <\/p>\n

\n \u201cStar Trek: Section 31\u201d will begin production later this year.\n <\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
