Jos Buttler produced a masterful 90 off 50 balls as Manchester Super Giants demolished Birmingham Phoenix by 87 runs to maintain their perfect start to The Hundred.

After scoring his highest T20 score of 131 against India earlier this month, the England wicketkeeper-batsman continued his resurgence, hitting seven fours and five sixes to take the home team to 187-5.

It was Cien’s second-highest total at Old Trafford and one that Phoenix fell well short of as they ran out to 100, giving the Super Giants their second win in as many games.

Manchester fans endured a long wait on Sunday when the women’s match was canceled and the men’s game was delayed 30 minutes.

But once the action began, Buttler treated them to a sensational innings.

The Super Giants suffered early setbacks when Tim Seifert and captain Aiden Markram fell narrowly, but Buttler combined powerful hitting with deft touches around the ground to improve on his half-century off 31 balls.
