Lyle Robertson has received a first Scotland senior call-up for August’s ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup Series 2 against Canada and the United Arab Emirates.

Falkland’s Robertson is one of three changes to the team that toured Nepal in May, with Zainullah Ihsan and Michael Jones returning.

Meanwhile, Michael Leask withdraws, while the injured duo of Brad Currie and Owen Gould are unavailable.

“It’s fantastic to welcome Zainullah Ihsan and Michael Jones back to the team for this series,” said Scotland coach Owen Dawkins.

“Zainullah has shown excellent progress over the summer with his performances in training, in GHK club cricket and in regional cricket with the Western Warriors.

“Michael missed our previous two tours due to his Lancashire commitments, so it is exciting to have a player of his quality available again for a home series.

“We are also pleased to award a first senior international call-up to Lyle Robertson. As a young player he represented Scotland at the ICC Under-19 World Cup in the Caribbean and has continued to show steady development since then.”

The next series will be Scotland’s final CWCL2 matches and will take place at Forthill in Broughty Ferry.

The Scots are currently joint second in the table, along with the Netherlands, and are five points behind leaders the United States.
