Burke’s arraignment is scheduled for August 31. The trial will begin within 90 days of that date.

Prosecutors alleged Burke stabbed the teen before dismembering her body after years of alleged sexual abuse.

They allege that he killed her because the teenager had threatened to reveal his relationship with a minor and destroy his multimillion-dollar music career.

Evidence read in court on Monday showed threats Celeste made to Burke on April 22, 2025, stemming from discussions about her friendship with another girl.

“I swear to GOD I will kill you,” read one expletive-laden text, followed by a threat to strangle him and tell his father lies about him. “I will end your career and your life, I will damage anything,” one text read.

The next day, Hernandez went to Burke’s Hollywood home in an Uber he had sent to pick her up.

Prosecutors alleged that Burke stabbed her once she arrived.
