The Pennsylvania-born singer has lived in New York since 2014, when she bought two adjoining penthouses in Tribeca for $20 million (£15 million) and combined them into one huge living space.
She fell in love with the city after discovering she could go shopping without being bothered and said it was “physically different since” she moved there. The move also inspired the song on their 1989 album, Welcome to New York.
Kelce, who resides in Kansas for his football career, was introduced to the Big Apple when he began dating Swift in 2023.
The couple probably spent tens of millions of dollars to rent the iconic stadium, planning experts told the BBC.
Ahead of the festivities, the billionaire singer and wealthy athlete donated $26 million (£19.5 million) to more than 20 charities, although he made no mention of any weddings.

But many said that if anyone could transform the sand into a wedding paradise, it would be Swift.
“I thought there was going to be more gardens, more flowers, more tropical. Something more elegant, something more Taylor Swift,” Canadian teenager Emily told the BBC outside the venue.
Rose, a New York resident, said it was “kind of absurd” for the couple to close the busy streets around the stadium, but she believed the ceremony would be beautiful “because it’s Taylor Swift.”
“I hope it’s a beautiful wedding… but I think they should do it somewhere that’s less inconvenient for them.” [the] general population of New York City,” he laughed.
Fans erupted in cheers outside Madison Square Garden as the newlywed signs lit up outside the arena.
Fan Tara Rosales was one of many who weren’t convinced the wedding would take place at the famous stadium.
“I knew she was getting married in New York, but I had no idea where. So I can’t believe it, I’m actually shocked and very excited,” she said.
“She’s never an inconvenience. Taylor can do whatever she wants.”
