Despite losing the services of Raza, Worcestershire continued their winning momentum against Glamorgan on Sunday, beating the Welsh county by 15 runs in Cardiff to stay on course for a place in the Blast quarter-finals.

Reflecting on his time with the Rapids, Raza said he would love the opportunity to reconnect with the Pears.

“Hopefully when the opportunity comes and Worcestershire wants me to come back, I’ll be back in a heartbeat,” he said.

“I think enjoy is not the word. I loved it. I loved being part of the family.

“The nice thing about it was that it wasn’t just a family in the dressing room or for the Worcester cricket community, I think I became a family for the whole county and for everyone who came to the ground.

“I know they accepted me and welcomed me like family and I have loved being part of this family.”

Worcestershire are third in their group, tied on 24 points with Gloucestershire, with two games remaining.

The top two from each of the three groups and the two best third-place finishers qualify for next week’s quarterfinals.
