Batsman Stephen Eskinazi will captain Leicestershire during the upcoming One-Day Cup competition.

The 32-year-old will fill the role vacated by Australian Peter Handscomb, who was ruled out of the season due to family commitments.

Eskinazi is in his first full season with Leicestershire, having initially joined the club on loan from Middlesex in the summer of 2025.

They begin their One Day Cup campaign at Kibworth against Gloucestershire on Wednesday 22nd July.
