Durham have named all-rounder Kasey Aldridge as their new captain for the One-Day Cup campaign.

Aldridge, who is in his first full season with Durham after joining from Somerset, will step up with red-ball and T20 captain Alex Lees free to concentrate solely on playing.

The 25-year-old’s first game in charge will be against Derbyshire Falcons on Tuesday, when his team will include Ben Stokes in his first game since stepping down as England Test captain.

“Kasey came for his first season in first-class cricket with Durham and in pre-season he was unanimously chosen for that leadership group,” head coach Ryan Campbell told the club website., external.
