On Monday night’s episode of “The Daily Show,” Jon Stewart gave his post-match opinion on Sunday’s World Cup final, in which Spain beat Argentina 1-0.

“Of course, the World Cup ended yesterday, finitely, with Spain defeating Argentina 1-0 on the field, in football,” Stewart said at the end of the show. “The Spain-Argentina final was like a Super Bowl in reverse, where the players spoke Spanish and the halftime show was in English.”

The World Cup final halftime show, the first in the tournament’s history, featured Madonna, Justin Bieber and the Muppets. Stewart took note of the Count from “Sesame Street,” who was there to celebrate the game along with Kermit and Miss Piggy.

“You have all the Muppets to choose from, why in God’s name would you make the vampire work during the day?” Stewart joked. “Not only was it in the bright afternoon sun, but for most of the game, the score was 0-0! You’re making fun of this poor bastard! ‘I was sitting in traffic for one, two, three hours for this.'”

Stewart then, of course, turned his attention to President Donald Trump’s presence at the game. It focused on an awkward moment in which Trump lingered onstage to be part of the trophy lift, a moment usually reserved for “just the players.”

“What the fuck are you doing on stage?” exclaimed Stewart. “It’s for the players! Damn it! Why must everything be tainted by Cankles Muldoon’s overinflated ego? Why?”
