While many newer venture capital firms are still struggling to raise fresh capital, Dimension Capital, founded in late 2022, has been raising larger and larger funds in rapid succession. On Tuesday, the New York firm, which invests at the intersection of science and computing, announced an $800 million fund, up 60% from its second $500 million vehicle announced just 18 months ago.

When Zavian Dar and Adam Goulburn, former partners at Lux Capital, teamed up with Nan Li, an Obvious Ventures alum, to launch the company four years ago, they bet that founders would increasingly want to create deep tech companies that crossed the boundaries of biotech and software. Now, all three partners admit to being impressed by the speed with which their thesis was developed.

In 2024, they co-led an initial $30 million investment in Chai Discovery. The startup, which is developing basic open-source AI models for drug development, announced last week that it raised $400 million at a valuation of $3.8 billion. The company also backed anti-aging startup New Limit in its Series A round in January 2025. Earlier this month, New Limit, co-founded by Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong, completed a Series C at a valuation of $3.1 billion.

Other notable investments by the company include inference company Modal Labs and Anthropic. Dimension received shares in the artificial intelligence giant after Anthropic acquired its portfolio company, drug discovery platform Coficient Bio, this spring for $400 million.
