France has selected Andrey Zvyagintsev’s Cannes Grand Prize winner “Minotaur” to represent the country in the international feature film race at the Oscars. The choice was made Wednesday by France’s Oscar committee following auditions with the producers, international sales agents and U.S. distributors behind the five shortlisted films, including Mubi, Neon and Sony Pictures Classics.
The Sarajevo Film Festival has revealed the lineup of its Open Air section, which screens films outdoors in the festival’s largest venue, the Coca-Cola Open Air Cinema. The Open Air section includes films directed by or starring this year’s Sarajevo honorees, like Paweł Pawlikowski’s “Fatherland,” Diego Luna’s “Ashes” and “Welcome to Sarajevo,” starring Woody Harrelson.
