Study population and ethics declaration The MCPS is a prospective cohort of over 150,000 adult participants from Mexico City3,4. The baseline survey took place between 14 April 1998 and 28 September 2004 and focused on households in two urban districts, Coyoacán and Iztapalapa. Residents aged 35 years or older were invited to participate in the study. Of

Personality plays into how people think, feel, behave and interact with their environment.Credit: PeopleImages/Getty A study of more than one million people has uncovered around 1,200 genetic variants that are associated with personality traits, and is by far the largest effort of its kind. The researchers found that common genetic variants account for a small

Cell-type-specific eQTLs underlie the genetic architecture of complex traits – Nature 0

CIGMA We developed CIGMA to unbiasedly quantify cell-type-shared and cell-type-specific eQTLs in scRNA-seq data. CIGMA avoids bias from eQTL detection power by using a linear mixed model, similar to the GREML model of complex trait heritability12. CIGMA models cell-type-specific pseudobulk data, which is computed by averaging across all cells in predefined cell types, one gene
