Daniel J. Kim (“Cobra Kai”) and Danielle Kennedy (“The ‘Burbs”) have joined the cast of “Drive Thru Magic,” the upcoming scripted fiction podcast from actor, writer and director Briggon Snow (“The Bright Sessions”).

The project is produced by Atypical Artists and executive produced by Lauren Shippen.

“Drive Thru Magic” is a gay romantic drama set against the unlikely backdrop of a roadside drive-thru, where two men meet in the small, repeated moments between a menu speaker and a car.

The first episodes will be released on September 7 on all podcast platforms.

Kim will voice Louie, a medical student who spends his time at a drive-thru job and falls in love with a regular customer. Snow will also play Gabe, a young man who cares for his grandmother as she loses herself to dementia and who finds an unexpected anchor in the voice on the other end of the speaker. Kennedy will play Barb, an acerbic, no-nonsense lifelong driver and the closest thing Louie has to a friend.

“I’m so excited to have Daniel and Danielle help me tell this story,” Snow said in a statement. “I started working on this in 2024 and I kept drifting away because sometimes it was too close. It’s rooted in something I’m still experiencing, but moving forward and creating this show has been kind of my way of dealing with difficult loss and change. I weaved it into a gay love story because pain needs a place to live, and love seemed like the right place.”

Atypical Artists is behind audio fiction hits like “Two Thousand and Late,” a dark comedy about our modern world and a 2026 Tribeca Audio Showcase selection, “The Bright Sessions,” a sci-fi drama about people with supernatural abilities in therapy, “In Strange Woods,” the acclaimed original musical that follows a young woman after the loss of her brother as she tries to learn how to survive, and the Netflix spin-off of “Stranger Things,” “Rebel Robin: Surviving.” Hawkins.”

The series finished filming in Los Angeles earlier this summer.
