President Donald Trump is set to appear on Sunday’s edition of “60 Minutes” for his first in-depth interview since Republicans suffered sweeping losses in Tuesday’s midterm elections.
The president is scheduled to sit down with CBS News correspondent Ross Douthat on Friday, with the interview slated to air Nov. 8. According to CNN, CBS News sources confirmed the plans, while the White House’s Friday schedule listed a pre-taped interview for 10:30 a.m. ET. The best way for cable-cutters to stream the interview online is on Paramount+ Premium. Essential subscribers can stream the full episode on demand beginning Monday, Nov. 9.
You can also access CBS live streams on services on DirecTV and Hulu+ Live TV.
The appearance comes just days after Democrats seized control of both the House and Senate, dealing a major blow to Trump’s second-term agenda. The election saw Democrats flip seats in traditionally Republican strongholds, with voters expressing growing frustration over the cost of living and the administration’s war with Iran.
Douthat, a longtime conservative columnist for The New York Times who joined “60 Minutes” earlier this year, has been a frequent critic of Trump. In a column published earlier this week, he described the midterm results as a failure of the “New Right.” The interview will mark one of Douthat’s highest-profile assignments since joining the newsmagazine as part of its revamped correspondent lineup.
The president has a complicated history with “60 Minutes,” having sued CBS and its parent company over the editing of a 2024 interview with his then-presidential opponent Kamala Harris. Paramount ultimately agreed to a $16 million settlement in 2025.
Since Skydance’s takeover of Paramount, CBS News has undergone a sweeping leadership overhaul under editor-in-chief Bari Weiss, including the departure of several longtime “60 Minutes” journalists and the appointment of Nick Bilton as executive producer.
Trump most recently appeared on the newsmagazine in April, when a contentious exchange with correspondent Norah O’Donnell saw the president call her a “disgrace.”
“60 Minutes” airs Sundays at 7 p.m. ET on CBS and streams on Paramount+.
