DUBAI, United Arab Emirates — US President Donald Trump threatened Iran on Saturday after open calls for his assassination were made at the funeral of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

Trump’s comments, made on his Truth Social website, are likely to once again raise tensions in the Middle East.

There were several days of US airstrikes against Iran, as well as Iranian retaliatory attacks against nations across the Middle East.

“1,000 missiles are locked and loaded and aimed at the Islamic Republic of Iran, with thousands more to follow immediately, should the Iranian government act on its threat,” Trump wrote.

Trump added that the US military “will decimate and completely destroy all areas of Iran. PRAISE ALLAH!”
