Todd Blanche, President Donald Trump’s nominee for attorney general, acknowledged mistakes in the investigation into publicly released Jeffrey Epstein files but defended his handling of the matter during his Senate confirmation hearing on Wednesday.

Blanche became acting attorney general in April 2026 after Pam Bondi was fired from the position.

The BBC’s Tom Bateman was at the confirmation hearing, where senators questioned Blanche about Epstein’s files and her personal ties to Trump.
