Lewis Pullman will star alongside Julia Garner in the upcoming Apple TV series “Guilty Creatures.” Variety has learned.

The show, with Garner serving as lead and executive producer, was announced on July 6. It is an adaptation of Mikita Brottman’s true crime book “Guilty Creatures: Sex, God, and Murder in Tallahassee, Florida.”

The show’s tagline states that the series “delves into the psyche of a torrid romance and subsequent act of murder between two young, adulterous but God-fearing lovers, unraveling their complex lives and the emotional toll of living as murderers for 18 years.”

This is Pullman’s second title based on “Creature” in recent memory. He just starred in the Netflix original film “Remarkably Bright Creatures,” which in turn was based on the book of the same name by Shelby Van Pelt. Pullman is also known for his work in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, playing Sentry in “Thunderbolts.” He will repeat that tole in “Avengers: Doomsday.” His other credits include the Apple series “Lessons in Chemistry,” Amazon’s “Outer Range” and films such as “Top Gun: Maverick” and “Salem’s Lot.” He will be seen next year in “Spaceballs: The New One,” starring alongside his father, Bill Pullman.

Tomorrow Studios, a partner of ITV Studios, developed the project and brought it to Apple. Craig Gillespie is directing and executive producing under his Fortunate Jack Productions banner. Sarah DeLappe will write and executive produce. Stuart Zicherman will serve as showrunner and executive producer. Garner will executive produce through Alma Margo in addition to starring. Marty Adelstein, Becky Clements and Alissa Bachner will executive produce for Tomorrow Studios alongside Fortunate Jack and Brottman’s Annie Marter. Both Fortunate Jack and Alma Margo have first-look deals with Tomorrow Studios.
