A documentary about Lily Allen comes to Prime Video.

The streamer announced the feature-length documentary on Wednesday, promising “an intimate portrait of the life and career of a global icon and voice of a generation.” The documentary comes after the explosive release of Allen’s fifth album, “West End Girl,” which marked her first album in seven years and made headlines for its examination of her marriage to “Stranger Things” star David Harbour. Allen is currently on tour with “West End Girl” and will soon hit the summer festival circuit.

Directed by award-winning documentary filmmaker Mat Whitecross (“Oasis: Supersonic,” “Coldplay: A Head Full of Dreams”), the untitled documentary “will chart Lily’s extraordinary journey, from the ‘Queen of MySpace’ who changed the rules of the music industry, to the cultural force she is today,” according to its official synopsis. “As a pioneering woman in modern music, Lily’s sharp wit and heartfelt storytelling directly paved the way for a generation of today’s most important female artists.”

Prime Video says the documentary will be released globally in 2027 and will include “interviews with those who know her best,” although the names of the participants were not revealed. “This is Lily Allen like you’ve never seen her before,” the press release states. “Raw, real and redefining what it means to thrive in the spotlight.”

Allen’s film is co-produced by Magna Studios, which is behind the upcoming Oasis documentary, “Don’t Look Back in Anger,” and Mint Pictures (“Oasis: Supersonic,” “Coldplay: A Head Full of Dreams”). Altitude manages global theatrical release and home entertainment rights worldwide.
