Surprise, bitch. I bet you thought you’d seen the last of the “American Horror Story” coven, but the witches are officially back in the first photos from the “AHS” season 13 production. The images are the latest confirmation that the new episodes will continue the story of 2013’s “Coven,” which was the anthology show’s third season and one of its most beloved runs.
“AHS” stalwarts Sarah Paulson and Emma Roberts headline the first set images alongside returning players Frances Conroy and Gabourey Sidibe. New to the coven appear to be Leslie Grossman (a Ryan Murphy regular), Avantika and Alex Consani. Other cast members seen on the New York City set on July 9 included Cara Delevingne and Charlie Carver.
FX previously announced that “AHS” 13 will feature the long-awaited return of Jessica Lange, the anthology series’ most iconic star who hasn’t appeared since 2018’s “Apocalypse.” Franchise regulars Evan Peters, Angela Bassett, Kathy Bates, Emma Roberts and Billie Lourd will also return. The cast also includes Ariana Grande, John Waters, Paul Anthony Kelly, star of Murphy’s “Love Story,” and Joey Pollari.
Plot details for the new season remain under wraps. The network first let slip that the “Coven” storyline was returning when it posted a first photo in July of Sarah Paulson with the caption: “The return of @mssarahcatharinepaulson as Cordelia Goode. The Supreme Rises. And yes, we’ve rebuilt the entire Robichaux Academy.”
“American Horror Story” season 13 will premiere on FX and Hulu on September 24 at 6 p.m. PT.
