It’s especially helpful when I’m running out the door to walk my dog, as I can grab my phone, keys, cards, and headphones without thinking about a bag. I also use it this way for grocery shopping because it’s easy to access my phone for my list and I’m not juggling a purse on top of reusable bags.

The Remi case is one of those accessories that really makes everyday life easier. It’s convenient when I’m running errands, walking the dog, traveling, or when I want to have my phone within reach without having to dig through my bag. The leather feels high-quality, the hardware looks polished, and Bandolier makes it in so many colors and finishes that it feels more like a style choice than just a practical phone case.
In my experience, it has also been protective. I once dropped my phone on concrete and my iPhone didn’t have a scratch on it, which made me feel much safer using it as my everyday case. That said, the gold trim did suffer some noticeable wear from the drop, which was disappointing given how expensive the case is, especially if you expect it to stay pristine over time.

I find the AirPods bag quite necessary because I use my AirPods constantly and it prevents them from disappearing to the bottom of a bag. My only complaint is that the folding flap makes it a little awkward to open the AirPods case, so it’s not as easy as carrying them loose.
Still, I’d rather take the extra step than misplace my AirPods, and I like that the bag attaches to the Bandolier case, keys, or an everyday bag.
The bracelet is probably my favorite add-on because it makes the case work in more situations. When I carry a bag, I can keep the phone on my wrist instead of constantly searching for it, and it’s perfect for events where I want to have my phone close by but don’t want to hold my entire bag.

Our executive editor, Sally Kaplan, has been a Bandolier fan for many years. In fact, he still uses his older, discontinued case, and it has helped him travel, day hikes, and more. Here are his thoughts:
I use my Bandolier phone case and carrying strap literally every day. I’ve always used phone cases with attached wallets, so I was familiar with their convenience, but once I added the strap, it was game over.
After more than two years of daily use, my Bandolier case is still in excellent condition. I also gave one to my mom last year and she uses it every day. She’s known for losing her phone, but she hasn’t misplaced it or left it anywhere even once since! We both get compliments all the time and I am quick to recommend them to friends and family. I’m sure there are cheaper copies on Amazon, but I think the quality of the leather is a big part of why they hold up so well.

I have a couple of these cases and straps, including the one above with a Gucci-style design and this one in grained leather that has a slightly longer strap. I literally never carry a purse with me anymore unless I’m going to a formal event, and I never lose my phone again.
Cons to consider
You should note that Bandolier phone cases are a little bulkier than regular phone cases, which can be a disadvantage for people who want to keep the case on their phone all the time. Where the straps connect makes the bottom a little thicker than you’re used to.
If you want to keep a regular, slimmer case on your phone and then switch to the Bandolier case when needed, it can be a little tricky to get it on and off at first. The case is super sturdy so it holds your phone firmly, but after using it for a while and opening it up and putting it on, it loosened up enough that it was no longer difficult to put it on my phone.
Our deputy executive editor, Lauren Savoie, also noted that the straps don’t feel long enough for tall, plus-size bodies: “As someone who is 5’11” and plus-size, I felt like the strap rested uncomfortably on my waist instead of near my hip, even in the longest setting.” Bandolier makes longer straps, but you have to purchase them separately.
Lastly, Bandolier cases are primarily made for iPhones. For Samsung users, we recommend their collection of crossbody bags, which have pockets compatible with most models.
