A reservoir wall broke in Nanning, China, causing a torrent of water after rivers swelled from a typhoon. At least two people have died from flooding caused by Typhoon Maysak, while another 480,000 have been evacuated across the southern province of Guangxi, authorities say. The province’s emergency flood control response has been raised to its highest level.

Authorities have warned that torrential rains will continue in Guangxi and several neighboring provinces in the coming days. Maysak is the first typhoon to make landfall in China this year.
