At least 10 people were killed after the second night of Russian attacks on kyiv in a week, the capital’s top military administrator said.

Timur Tkachenko added that 46 people were injured, including five children.

Rescue efforts continue in more than 20 locations, Tkachenko posted on Telegram, adding that high-rise residential buildings were hit in two districts.

The attacks come on the eve of the NATO summit in Türkiye, where Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is expected to hold talks with President Trump.

Hours before the latest attacks, Zelensky warned that Moscow was preparing a second “massive attack” on kyiv following Thursday’s attacks that killed 30 people.

Russian ballistic missiles hit several buildings across the city, Mayor Vitaly Klitschko said, adding that fires had broken out in some apartment complexes.

According to the mayor, warehouses and a garage workshop were also damaged.

Photos emerging from Kyiv show smoldering wreckage and charred cars strewn across the city. Footage also shows crews continuing to sift through the rubble Monday morning to find survivors.

Zelensky said on Sunday, hours before the attacks, that intelligence indicated kyiv would suffer a second wave of Russian attacks within a week.

After a barrage of drone and missile attacks overnight Thursday, tens of thousands of residents were evacuated to the city’s subway stations as alarms sounded in the early hours of Friday morning.

Ukraine accused Moscow of deliberately targeting civilian areas in the attack, which left at least 30 dead. Russia said it had attacked military and energy bases in retaliation for recent Ukrainian attacks on power plants and energy facilities on Russian territory.

These attacks continued into the night, temporarily cutting power to the city of Sevastopol in Russian-occupied Crimea.

Ahead of the NATO meeting, Zelensky urged allies not to delay the supply of long-range missiles to be used against Russia.

He wrote in X: “Any delay with missiles for our air defense… means loss of life and encourages Russia to continue the war.”

Zelensky has also called on the United States to grant Ukraine licenses to manufacture Patriot defense missiles.
