US President Donald Trump renewed his criticism of NATO and said he was “very” disappointed with Europe’s response to the US war against Iran.

His requests for European support during the conflict were aimed at testing US allies, he told reporters during a meeting with Turkey’s president.

“We didn’t need any help at all and in a way I was testing people, I was testing to see if they would be there or not, because for a long time I’ve said we helped them, but I’m not sure they were there for us,” he said.

The complaint has been a central point of conflict between Trump and NATO.
