Logan Browning had just moved from Los Angeles to Atlanta when she was offered the role of FBI agent Sarah Greer in Harlan Coben’s latest hit Netflix series, “I Will Find You.”
“Maybe there’s something special about the water in Atlanta, because everything worked out,” Browning tells me over Zoom.
Sarah is not just any FBI agent. Turns out his partner in the Boston office is…get this! – his father, Max Williams, played by Chi McBride.
A father-daughter FBI team is a prime example of what Coben does so well: making the viewer believe that the unbelievable is rooted in reality.
“Doing all my research, I thought, ‘This is totally off-limits, like this would never happen,’” Browning says, laughing. “They [the producers] They said, ‘They got special privileges because of their rule.’ So I’m paving the way for father-daughter FBI teams. You are welcome.”

The eight-episode series sees Sarah and Max hunt for David Burroughs (Sam Worthington), a prison escapee on the run to prove that he was wrongly accused and sentenced to life in prison for the brutal murder of his young son Matthew. Britt Lower co-stars as David’s ex-sister-in-law, a journalist who believes David is innocent. Milo Ventimiglia is Hayden, Rachel’s filthy rich ex-boyfriend, and Madeline Stowe plays her seemingly sinister mother.
The cat-and-mouse action thriller features David and Sarah making death-defying leaps from the roof of one Boston building to another. “I can jump buildings, you didn’t know that?” Browning Jokes.
In the end, Sarah ends up coming to David’s defense and helps clear his name.
“When we did that rooftop scene, Sam mentioned this. He said, ‘You guys need to look each other in the eye a couple of times because you’re going to team up really quickly,'” Browning recalls. “I think to me there’s a moment where David is about to jump off the building where it almost seems like a moment of compassion between them.”
While Browning has experience using firearms, he says Worthington proved to be an invaluable teacher. “Even though Sam’s character doesn’t use guns much, Sam has obviously used them a lot,” says Browning. “There was a scene where one of our directors, Maggie Kiley, wanted me to reload. Sam showed me on the spot how to do it and, my God, he’s great. He really knows what he’s doing. It was great to see him do it.”
All eight episodes of “I Will Find You” are now streaming on Netflix.
