From pigeon-shaped handbags to tomato-inspired clutches, Jonathan Anderson has made a career out of transforming the ordinary into the extraordinary. His latest subject? The Ugg boot.

The designer’s namesake label, JW Anderson, has teamed up with the California-based footwear brand for a new collection that reimagines its iconic Classic Boot and Tasman slipper through the lens of a penny loafer. Launching Oct. 15, the unisex capsule features two styles, priced between $300 and $400, in a campaign starring musician and producer Dev Hynes, also known as Blood Orange.

The collaboration arrives amid a particularly busy chapter for Anderson, who was appointed creative director of Dior in 2025 following an acclaimed 11-year tenure at Loewe. Now overseeing the French fashion house’s womenswear, menswear and haute couture collections — while continuing to helm his own label — Anderson has emerged as one of fashion’s most influential creative forces. He’s also forging a name for himself in Hollywood, teaming up with Luca Guadagnino as a costume designer on “Challengers” and “Queer” and, most recently, launching a new partnership between Dior and A24.

His most recent collection with Ugg includes the JW Anderson Loafer Boot ($400) and JW Anderson Loafer ($300), both featuring rounded toes, box-stitching and details inspired by traditional penny loafers, while retaining Ugg’s signature materials and cushioning. Both styles are available in chestnut, khaki and a punchy orange, with all three shades personally selected by Anderson.

“Ugg boots are instantly recognizable, and I was interested in seeing something so familiar through the lens of JW Anderson,” Anderson said in a statement. “For me, collaboration is about experimentation, bringing two distinct points of view together and seeing where that leads.”

The accompanying campaign, styled by Anderson himself and photographed by Zhenya and Tanya Posternak, features Hynes lounging at home, getting dressed and moving through everyday routines in the new designs. The imagery plays into the collection’s central idea of elevating familiar, ordinary objects through unexpected details.

JW Anderson has maintained a longstanding partnership with Uniqlo since 2017, bringing the designer’s offbeat take on British classics to more accessible price points. More recently, the label teamed with Guinness for a second collection in March, with a 17-piece capsule fronted by Joe Alwyn and Little Simz, and partnered with heritage ceramics company Wedgwood on limited-edition tableware.

The JW Anderson collection also continues Ugg’s growing push into the luxury fashion space. Just last month, the footwear brand unveiled a biker-inspired collaboration with Willy Chavarria, featuring black leather boots and slippers in a campaign starring Eva Longoria, Danny Trejo, Becky G and Ivan Cornejo. Other recent fashion partnerships have included Telfar, Collina Strada and Feng Chen Wang.

The Ugg x JW Anderson collection will be available beginning Oct. 15 at UGG.com, JWAnderson.com, select brand boutiques and retailers including Selfridges, The Webster and Lane Crawford.
