KAAI beats the other mid-range luxury work bags we’ve tested because they come with elite built-in storage. Luxury bags from Cuyana or Polène typically have wide-open main compartments, requiring you to spend more on an insert.
Cost is the obvious deterrent when choosing KAAI, but when you’ve had a chance to examine the details and wear test the Pyramid for over a year like I did, it becomes clear why they command such a high price. While they are definitely stylish and professional looking, they can withstand being shaken around and are better equipped for trips to the office than designer bags.

Details help me stay organized when I’m in a hurry. There’s a handy key strap, which means I can get through the door to my apartment much quicker at the end of a long day. The water bottle pocket keeps my canteen upright, or you can use it to hold an umbrella.

The straps are sturdy and have a generously long drop. They measure 10.6 inches and while I would prefer them to be wider and more padded, I can still easily fit them over a jacket. They are made of reinforced leather, which does not pull or sag when the bag is full. When empty, the bag weighs about 2 pounds.
The special waterproof and scratch-resistant leather coating will not crack or fade. I keep mine in its dust bag stacked under heavier bags, but it still reappears in its original form when it’s time to go to work. I also love that it stays upright when I set it down and the little metal legs keep the bottom from getting dirty.
