Kelly Clarkson hopes to break some expectations.
Five months after announcing The Kelly Clarkson Show will end this year, the “Breakaway” singer jokingly noted that there are different rules for filming the NBC talk show and performing as a musician.
“They would fire me [by] NBC, but I don’t work there anymore,” Clarkson joked to the crowd during the first night of her Las Vegas residency at Caesar’s Palace on July 17, according to footage filmed by @jpasc24. “We’re sad to [it]. “It was a fun show.”
The Grammy winner continued to share her thoughts on attending human resources meetings, poking fun at how some situations she experienced on a tour bus wouldn’t work in corporate settings.
“It’s funny, you go to those HR meetings and think, ‘No one on the path would last,'” Clarkson explained. “It’s just a different world. I was 19 on a bus with guys. ‘What? I can’t do what?’ ‘Yes, that is completely inappropriate.'”
