ABC’s “Scrubs” revival is undergoing some cast changes ahead of its second season (and the show’s 11th season overall).

Ava Bunn, who played Dr. Sam Tosh in the first revival season, has been promoted to series regular status for the second season. Meanwhile, both X Mayo and Joel Kim Booster, who played Nurse Pippa Raymond and Dr. Kevin Park respectively, will not be returning to the series.

Zach Braff, Donald Faison and Sarah Chalke return once again. Original cast members Neil Flynn, John C. McGinley, Judy Reyes and Robert Maschio return in recurring guest star roles, while Christa Miller and Phill Lewis will guest star.

New cast members Vanessa Bayer, Rachel Bilson, Jacob Dudman, David Gridley, Layla Mohammadi, Amanda Morrow and Michael James Scott will return in recurring roles.

The official description for the new season reads: “JD, Turk and Elliot have gone from interns to icons at Sacred Heart. Now, the respected doctors inspire the next generation while balancing the ups and downs of working at a hospital. Along with characters new and old, they are navigating this next chapter with laughter, heart and a few surprises along the way.”

The revival of “Scrubs” was well received by the public. According to Nielsen data reported exclusively by VarietyThe show ranked as one of the top 25 broadcast shows of the 2025-2026 broadcast season.

Bill Lawrence created the original “Scrubs” and executive produces through his Doozer Productions along with Jeff Ingold and Liza Katzer. Braff, Faison and Chalke are executive producers as well as stars. Aseem Batra serves as showrunner and executive producer, with Mike Royce, Mathew Harawitz, Randall Keenan Winston and Michael Spiller also serving as executive producers. 20. Television is the studio.
