Television City and Orbital Studios have partnered to bring a new virtual production studio to the Fairfax district of Los Angeles.

The new LED volume will be based at 7800 Beverly Boulevard, Television City, and reflects Orbital’s strong commitment to providing the best virtual production experiences for productions of all sizes, budgets and creative aspirations. Virtual production system built to the highest industry standards.

“We couldn’t be more excited to welcome Orbital Studios to Television City,” said Anthony Mazziotti, executive director of stage operations and marketing for Television City. “Their work positions this lot among the most advanced production environments in the world, while honoring everything these sets have represented. This is exactly the type of partnership that keeps Television City both iconic and essential.”

The measure goes against the grain since productions have moved to other states and countries. By allowing productions to capture global locations without leaving Los Angeles, this partnership helps keep creative work, crew jobs and production spend local.

Orbital is currently in production on the FX series “The Drop: A Snowfall Saga.” His recent credits include the Netflix series “Nemesis,” for which the team reconstructed parts of downtown Los Angeles from digital scans, “Justified: City Primeval,” “History’s Greatest Heists” and the recently released 20-part documentary series “World War II with Tom Hanks.”

“Walking through these sets, you feel the weight of what was done here,” said AJ Wedding, founder and CEO of Orbital Studios. “Generations of teams put everything they had into these rooms. That legacy makes us determined to get it right. We’re bringing the latest in virtual production technology and the most talented virtual art and AI artists into spaces that helped define American television, because the best way to honor a historic place is to make sure the next big stories happen there, too.”
