Tom Holland is having a great time doing the press circuit for both “The Odyssey” and “Spider-Man: Brand New Day” because he likes the movies. That hasn’t always been the case.

On the July 22 episode of Dish Podcast, Holland spoke with hosts Nick Grimshaw and Angela Hartnett about the press cycles surrounding movies and how he occasionally had to talk about a project he’s not very fond of.

“I love it. When you do press for movies you’re really proud of, it’s very easy,” he said. “Because when they ask you why people should go see this movie, you’re not lying to anyone. You really feel like people should go see it. I’ve had experiences before when people say, ‘Why should you see this movie?’ And deep down you think: ‘You shouldn’t, because it’s shit.’”

The quality of the films has turned the process upside down for the actor, especially in a summer in which he has two blockbusters about to be released.

“To be honest, it felt like a victory lap,” Holland said. “I really enjoyed it. I’m very proud of both films.”

Also in the interview, Holland reveals that he learned more about the art of doing press from his “Odyssey” co-star Anne Hathaway.

“I’ve had the pleasure of sitting down with Anne Hathaway for the last three days and doing press with her,” he said. “For me, it has been an incredible learning experience. She is a great professional.”
