Tony Romo, former star quarterback for the NFL’s Dallas Cowboys, was arrested for operating a vehicle while intoxicated, police said.

The Milwaukee County Sheriff’s Office said Romo was detained around 6:00 p.m. local time (23:00 GMT) in Wisconsin on Thursday, and was arrested after he performed poorly on field sobriety tests.

He was released that same night and ordered to appear in court on September 21.

Romo now works as a soccer commentator for CBS, which has not commented on his arrest.

According to local media, this is his first crime related to driving a vehicle while intoxicated. If you are convicted, your driver’s license may be suspended and you may be required to pay a fine.

Romo played for the Cowboys from 2003 to 2016, scoring 248 touchdowns in his career. He is also known for dating singer Jessica Simpson from 2007 to 2009.

He is originally from the city of Burlington, Wisconsin, 30 miles (48 kilometers) southwest of Milwaukee.

Since 2017 he has worked as a game analyst for CBS. In 2011 he married model Candice Crawford and the couple has three children.
