Summer continues and several new TV shows and movies have arrived to entertain you while you stay cool indoors. We’ve combed through the latest news to round up the five best movies and TV shows worth streaming the weekend of July 24, 2026.

This week’s lineup features several out-of-this-world plots, including the latest “Masters of the Universe” movie, a new season of “Star Trek: Strange New Worlds” and a multi-universe spinoff of “The Big Bang Theory.” There’s also a new pickleball comedy for those looking for something a little more relaxed.

5: Masters of the Universe

“Masters of the Universe” finds Prince Adam (Nicholas Galitzine) returning to his planet, Eternia, after being sent to Earth for 15 years for his own protection. When he returns, he must face Skeletor to save his world and embrace his power as He-Man. Camila Mendes, Idris Elba and Jared Leto help round out the cast. The film is now streaming on Prime Video.

4: Star Trek: Strange New Worlds

“Star Trek: Strange New Worlds,” the spin-off of “Star Trek: Discovery” and the prequel to “Star Trek: The Original Series,” returns for a fourth season. The new season finds Captain Pike, Spock, Number One and the rest of the Enterprise crew on their latest adventure. Anson Mount, Rebecca Romijn, Celia Rose Gooding and Ethan Peck lead the cast. The season 4 premiere is now streaming on Paramount Plus.

3: Stuart fails to save the universe

Move over, “Young Sheldon”: There’s a new spin-off of “The Big Bang Theory.” “Stuart Fails to Save the Universe” strays away from the comedy vibe of other “TBBT” spinoffs like “Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage” and instead sends Stuart Bloom (Kevin Sussman) on a multi-universe sci-fi adventure after he accidentally damages a machine created by Sheldon and Leonard. Lauren Lapkus, Brian Posehn and John Ross Bowie also star. The series premiere is now streaming on HBO Max and is available through the Disney Plus bundle, Hulu, and HBO Max.

2: The Walking Dead: Dead City

The third season of “The Walking Dead: Dead City” has arrived, the spin-off of “Walking Dead” set in New York City. In season three, Maggie (Lauren Cohan) and Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) need to work together, despite their thorny past. The new season premieres Sunday on AMC (available through live TV services like Philo and YouTube TV) and AMC Plus.

1: The Dink

“New Girl” star Jake Johnson directs Apple’s latest movie, “The Dink,” a comedy about a former tennis prodigy past his prime who reluctantly has to play pickleball while recovering from a wrist injury. Ed Harris, Mary Steenburgen, Ben Stiller and Aaron Chen help round out the cast, which also includes former professional tennis players Andy Roddick and John McEnroe. The film is now streaming on Apple TV.
