After a week of massive funeral processions, rallies and mourning ceremonies in Iran, the slain former supreme leader has been laid to rest.

Ayatollah Ali Khamenei was assassinated at the start of the US-Israel war, but his funeral was delayed due to the ongoing conflict in which high-ranking Iranian figures were attacked and killed.

He was succeeded as supreme leader by his son Mojtaba, who has not been seen in public since he was reportedly wounded in the same attack.
