Ukrainian drones have again struck the warehouses of Russia’s largest online retailer, injuring 15 people, according to the company’s founder and regional governors.
Fulfillment centers run by Wildberries in two southwestern cities were hit by overnight attacks and workers were evacuated, the founder said.
It is the second time that Ukraine attacks the company’s facilities in four days; The Tambov and Elektrostal warehouses were attacked over the weekend, killing eight people.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said on Wednesday that Ukraine had attacked logistics centers in the Krasnodar and Stavropol regions “involved in supplying the Russian military with drone components, navigation equipment and other equipment.”
Workers were evacuated after attacks on logistics centers in Krasnodar and Nevinnomyssk in the Stavropol region, Wildberries founder Tatyana Kim said.
“There are no words to describe all the feelings and emotions caused by the attacks on ordinary people, on our employees, on us who are simply doing our job,” he wrote on Telegram. “But these situations demonstrate the most important thing: we must continue doing what we do for the benefit of the people.”
Five people were injured at a warehouse complex on the outskirts of Nevinnomyssk, Governor Vladimir Vladimirov said, and all received outpatient treatment.
In Krasnodar, ten people were wounded in an attack on a warehouse complex, three of them in serious condition, the region’s governor, Veniamin Kondratyev, said.
BBC Verify analyzed images and confirmed fires at both locations.
Reports of the attacks first emerged shortly after 00:00 GMT, with Russian state news agency TASS reporting that air defenses had been activated in Nevinnomyssk. Shortly afterward, dramatic images filmed by locals began to appear.
In both places, the impact appears substantial, with large fires engulfing buildings and huge plumes of smoke rising into the air.
