England captain Nat Sciver-Brunt will miss Trent Rockets’ first two matches of The Hundred to manage her workload.

Sciver-Brunt, 33, has been dealing with a calf issue all summer.

The all-rounder suffered the injury playing domestic cricket for The Blaze in April, leading to her missing England’s opening series against New Zealand and India, as well as three T20 World Cup group stage matches.

It also meant she had to play as a specialist batsman during the tournament, where England were beaten by Australia in the final at Lord’s.

England’s next series begins on September 1 with three one-day internationals against Ireland.

Trent Rockets open their Hundred campaign on Friday against Birmingham Phoenix at 15:00 BST and then take on London Spirit on Sunday.

Sciver-Brunt previously captained the Rockets but stepped down from the role in 2025, shortly after taking over as England manager.

His wife, former England bowler Katherine, was recently appointed Rockets assistant coach.
