Fifteen-year-old Indian cricket sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi has been named on a prestigious list identifying the world’s most influential rising stars.

The 2026 Time100 Next list features 100 emerging talents who Time Magazine foresees as influencing their respective fields, including sport, entertainment, politics and business.

Sooryavanshi is the youngest person to be listed and is among seven athletes named.

Athletes joining Sooryavanshi include American football quarterback Arch Manning, NBA star Tyrese Maxey, footballers Naomi Girma and Folarin Balogun, tennis player Alexandra Eala and basketball player Olivia Miles.

Sooryavanshi was the youngest player ever signed at an Indian Premier League auction in 2024, when Rajasthan Royals bought him aged 13. He made his debut the following year and created history by becoming the youngest player to score a century in men’s T20 cricket.

“This year’s list-makers are pushing boundaries, creating new possibilities, and advancing their fields and communities around the world,” said Time CEO Jessica Sibley.

British singer-songwriter Raye, who also made the list, external, will perform at the annual Time100 Next event on 29 October in New York.
