SPOILER ALERT: This post contains spoilers for the ninth episode of “Dutton Ranch,” “The Godfather.”,” which is now streaming on Paramount+.
This season of “Dutton Ranch” flew by at great speed. Sure, it only lasted nine episodes, but they contained a lot. We met the Jackson family, who made the Duttons look downright healthy! There was sex, murder, and a lot of tense conversations between big men in big trucks. But how did it all end? Read on to see what happened and how the future will change for Beth (Kelly Reilly) and Rip (Cole Hauser).
- Does Rob-Will (Jai Courtney) call Beth a “little bitch” in front of Rip? You’re lucky you only took one punch, buddy! Bonus points for Beth quietly smoking in the background.
- Ooh… nice fight! Rip smashing Rob-Will against the grill of the truck was a decisive move.
- Beth is smart to look at the quickly cooked books during the fight.
- Oh, interesting: I didn’t know how deep Beulah (Annette Bening) was into the criminal enterprise.
- Ugh, poor Everett (Ed Harris) will be heartbroken once he realizes that Beulah is a hardcore criminal.
- Wow, the Jacksons are sick people! Poor cows, the ones they open to put drugs in. I hate them!
- Buckets of drugs! So many drugs!
- Wow, Harris is giving an appropriately angry performance. Love the passion.
- Uh oh, this caravan is daunting!
- Damn, is Joaquín (Juan Pablo Raba) going to get everyone killed because he brought Mariano (Raoul Max Trujillo)?
- And now Oreana (Natalie Alyn Lind) is pregnant?!? I can’t stand this… Jesus, take the wheel…
- “As my dad would say, they raped me.” I’m still angry at Beulah, but hearing her tell this story is heartbreaking.
- After all this, we learn that the sheriff’s name is… Practical?!? Good material and excellent delivery by Beth.
- Aww, Zachariah (Marc Menchaca) and Azul (JR Villarreal) are so loyal. Love them for that!
- Beulah, have you been, err, accidentally Dealing fentanyl for 15 years? I don’t believe you!
- Goodbye, Beulah. You don’t have to come home, but you can’t stay at Everett’s house!
- Carter (Finn Little) throwing a tantrum and living like a hermit really isn’t that exciting, unfortunately.
- Rob-Will is compulsive in his need to always do the wrong thing.
- Classic Beth, barging into a business and scolding the office manager: “Suck some dick, Denise.”
- Again, how stupid must Tommy (James Eddie) be to grab Beth?!? It’s fun to see him get punched right away.
- Laughing at Rip lifting Tommy into the sky by his belt. Hopefully someone will get him down sometime!
- Love Beth jumps out of her truck and immediately points her shotgun at Beulah.
- Without intending to objectify the show’s protagonists, Beth and Rip wear their sexiest cowboy clothes of the season in this episode. Let this sexy couple live in peace!
- I’m sure Carter and Oreana escaping together will be totally easy.
- “I want you to kill your brother.” Damn, I guess they call Mariano The Godfather for a reason!
- Oh, this band sounds pretty good! They’re called the Ransom Brothers, for anyone who’s curious.
- Who doesn’t love a good “preparation for war” sequence? They are carrying so many weapons!
- This shootout is so tense! Everett is the MVP considering that fair I knew I was going to kill guys tonight.
- So many bodies! Where can they take all this?
- “This place just eats what it loves and keeps the bones.” Err, who knew Rob-Will was such a poet?
- And that’s all about Courtney! Rob-Will, we could have used more of your energy this season and we’re sad to see you go. Will Oreana avenge your death?
- I feel like the place where they dumped all the bodies could be a little more remote…
- So, getting Carter back is the new mission…
Until next season, riders and cowboys!
