Pearl Studio’s animated comedy “All Wishes Come True!” will expand to international markets this summer after debuting in China on July 24.
Australia, New Zealand and Papua New Guinea will receive the film first, on August 13, followed by the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Ireland and the Netherlands on August 14. Belgium and Luxembourg will complete the premiere on September 4.
Pearl Studio, whose credits include “Kung Fu Panda 3,” “Abominable” and the Oscar-nominated “Over the Moon,” produced the film along with CMC Pictures. It is written and directed by Mu Zhengyang and produced by Cao Linlin.
“All wishes come true!” reinvents the Chinese folk tale “The Eight Immortals Who Cross the Sea” as a mythological comedy. The story follows eight ordinary mortals, beginning with Lü Dongbin and Zhongli Quan, who disguise themselves as immortals in an attempt to enter a legendary vault. Along the way, they recruit six more companions (He Xiangu, Tieguai Li, Han Xiangzi, Cao Guojiu, Lan Caihe, and Zhang Guolao) and confront a conspiracy that threatens the balance between the mortal and immortal worlds.
Su Hang, who won a Hong Kong Film Award for “The Shadow’s Edge,” designed the film’s action sequences, while Chen Hao, whose credits include “Ne Zha,” directed the voice cast.
The release comes as Chinese animation continues to gain momentum internationally. “Ne Zha 2” has grossed more than $2.2 billion globally, with overseas revenue reaching $9.3 billion in 2025.
Headquartered in Beijing, Pearl Studio operates as the animation arm of CMC Inc. and is among China’s largest and internationally best-known animation houses. Beyond “Kung Fu Panda 3,” “Abominable” and “Over the Moon,” the studio is developing multiple original animated films based on traditional Chinese culture for global audiences.
CMC Pictures acts as the film division of CMC Inc. and covers development, production, investment, marketing and distribution. The company began international distribution in 2016 and has since released about 120 films worldwide, including the “Wandering Earth,” “Ne Zha” and “Detective Chinatown” franchises, along with “Ip Man 4” and “A Writer’s Odyssey,” in a network spanning more than 100 countries and 500 cities.
