Warwickshire’s meeting with Division One title rivals Nottinghamshire at Edgbaston was the major casualty.
Two of the four Division Two games were also called off – first at Derby, where Middlesex were the visitors, then also at New Road, where Worcestershire were supposed to have been entertaining Lancashire.
Play is due to start at 11:00 BST in all three games for day two on Friday but, with further rain likely to affect the remaining three days, the outlook is not good.
