The online influencer “Clavicular”, whose real name is Braden Peters, has been charged with rape, providing liquor to a person under the legal US drinking age, and drugging someone for sexual intercourse, court records show.

The alleged offences occurred in May 2025, according to the charges filed in Orleans District Court in the state of Massachusetts.

A spokesperson for Peters told CBS News, the BBC’s US partner, that the charges are “bogus” and that Peters has yet to be served with an arrest warrant.

Peters is facing a civil lawsuit filed by a woman earlier this year who alleged that he had served her several rounds of vodka and had nonconsensual sex with her at his parents’ home on Cape Cod.

The woman said she was a minor at the time and also accused him of injecting her with a non-FDA approved substance. He denied the allegations.

The criminal charges filed this month do not identify the alleged victim.

Clavicular is known for his role in an online movement called “looksmaxxing”, centred on maximising physical attractiveness.

Peters was also charged earlier this year in Florida after he filmed himself shooting at what appeared to be a dead alligator, for which he pleaded no contest to unlawfully discharging a firearm in public.
