Australian gymnast Jesse Moore won the country’s first men’s individual medal in 16 years, after taking bronze at the Glasgow International Arena with a total of 79,000.

It wasn’t easy for Moore, who dismounted on the pommel horse, her first apparatus of the night, but she fought back with an impressive 13.850 on vault and 14.100 on the high bar to put herself in medal contention.

Scotland’s Reuben Scott won gold with a total of 79.650, while Canada’s Felix Dolci won silver with 79.450.

The last time Australia won a men’s singles medal was at the 2010 Delhi Games, when Joshua Jefferis won bronze. Jefferis had also won gold in the event at the previous Games in Melbourne in 2006.

Fellow Australian Ritam Malik finished sixth with a total of 77.400.
