“Love Island USA” season 8 contestant Corbin admits his elimination felt “humiliating.” But unlike other recently dumped couples like Jen and Gal, Corbin left with hope for the future while holding hands with his Casa Amor connection, Parmida.
“I see this connection going very far,” says Corbin Variety. “Her mentality, oh my God! She’s a go-getter. I love ambitious women; the fact that she has a go-getter mentality, she wants a lot of things for herself, she wants to be the best in the business world and I’m like, ‘This is beautiful!'”
It all came down to last Sunday’s final episode between Corbin and Parmida and Zach and Kayda after both couples were voted least compatible, as decided by a fan vote. Kenzie and Dylan were also included in this group, but they were saved because they won the karaoke challenge.
Corbin’s friendship with Sincere was tested during the movie night, which showed a montage of clips of the islander’s private conversations. The Sincere clips showed him leading two different islanders, Melanie and Sol, which especially woke up all the guys to what was really going on.
“He was telling us one thing, Melanie another, telling everyone else one thing, but they’re all different stories. You can’t have that as a friendship. I forgive but I don’t forget,” Corbin says. “I told him in subsequent chats, ‘Listen. That was your only chance. I know what you did, you’re in for an experience, you’re having fun, you think you can get away with it, that’s great!'”
After his elimination, Corbin spoke with Variety about his eventful time in the villa, the state of his friendship with Sincere after his true character was exposed during the scandalous movie night segment, and his reaction to the internet (and the villa!) dubbing him “CorbinGPT.”
It’s been a few days since you left the villa. How have you adjusted to returning to the real world and seeing people’s thoughts on social media?
A day in the villa is like a week, really. So having been there for as long as I was, leaving the villa felt more like a long day. You’re stuck in the village, you see these islanders every day, you’re doing pretty much the same thing. And then you will go out to the hotel where you are detained. To be honest, it feels like a dream, because you don’t do half the things you do there in real life. You don’t go out to the bar and start kissing six random girls one after the other, you know? So it was a crazy experience coming out.
We saw you and Parmida leaving together, holding hands as a couple. In the days you were together, have you spent time together? Where do you see this connection and relationship going?
I see this connection going very far. The fact that we’re in the villa and we’re experiencing these challenges together, experiencing conversations with each other every day (and I know some conversations haven’t been fully shown in the episodes), but the fact [is that] Parmida and I know what our chats are. We know how far we can go into them. That, without a doubt, gives me more confidence to enter the real world with her and experience this whole journey of life that we are going to explore.

What attracted you to Parmida about everyone at Casa Amor?
To be honest, we have the same morals. She is very simple, I am simple. We don’t like liars. We like to be as direct as possible. And we know we’re going to step on some people’s toes, but we’re just being honest. Sometimes the truth hurts, you know? But we also know that you need someone like that on your side. So the fact that she and I do that and understand it, means that we are very real to each other. We don’t beat around the bush. So whenever we’re in a conflict, or there’s some disagreement in the conversation, we’re both direct and say to each other, “Listen, this is what’s going on.” So it just makes the process easier rather than someone who might shut down and just not want to talk or beat around the bush because they don’t want to hurt your feelings.
His way of thinking, my God! She is an entrepreneur. I love ambitious women: the fact that she has an entrepreneurial mindset, she wants a lot of things for herself, she wants to be the leader in the business world and I’m like, “This is beautiful!” Being an entrepreneur, I say, “Oh! You understand me, you understand what we go through!” Other than that, she is very beautiful from head to toe. So I think we both complement each other in that way.
Tell me what was going through your head during your elimination. Were you surprised that the islanders decided not to save you from Zach and Kayda?
Bro, that was probably the worst way to leave the villa! It was humiliating. We arrived last at karaoke. I don’t dance, I don’t sing, so for me to sing and dance and Parmida to sing and dance, and then get eliminated, I thought, “Holy shit!” I just feel humiliated, do you feel me? When I stood next to Zach and Kayda, it was a moment where I knew my destiny. I knew this because I wasn’t fighting against a connection or compatibility, but against time. Everyone has seen Zach and Kayda from the beginning: Zach is an OG, Kayda is curse near an OG, and the islanders have seen them build together until karaoke night. In my case, I’ve had a connection with Kenzie, Melanie and then Parmida, you know? Parmida and I have a great connection, and everyone knew it and had seen it, but it was very fresh and new for the islanders.
And then the islanders had to fall in line with who they voted for. [to keep]Then I started seeing everyone piling on Zack’s stuff. It hurt me to see it, but I knew what the answer was. But the real moment that changed my life was when I had KC and Titi by my side because KC and I really had a bond, a great brotherhood in that village. Naturally, it helped me feel more comfortable with the village scene, with the islanders, being myself and stuff. So the fact that I had my son in the corner with his girl, and the fact that the four of us experienced Casa Amor, was heartfelt, for sure. I fuck with him, that’s my brother for sure!
One moment that got fans talking, of course, was movie night. Specifically with everything that happened with Sincere and how he was leading both Sol and Melanie. You also voted Sincere and Melanie as one of the least compatible couples.
That was kind of hard for me because I thought, “Damn, this is my son and I’m going to expel him, dammit!” But I had to step back and ask, “Who am I?” I am someone who holds people accountable. I’m someone sincere and I took that opportunity to tell my son, talk to him, talk to Sincere and Melanie about how I was feeling and how I see their connection. At first I didn’t want to! When Parmida gave me the idea to vote for Melanie and Sincere, I had to step back and say, “What the hell is going on? That’s my guy!” But my friendship overwhelmed me. I heard Parmida talk about the pros and cons of her decision and I support her. She felt strong about that, I also felt the same, so I’m going to support my wife. He didn’t even have anything in his head when he was talking, he couldn’t even look at Sincere!
He was telling us one thing, Melanie another, telling everyone else one thing, but they’re all different stories. You can’t have that as a friendship. I forgive but I don’t forget. I told him in subsequent chats, “Listen. That was your only chance. I know what you did, you’re in for an experience, you’re having fun, you think you can get away with it, that’s great!” But I told him as a brother, “I hold you accountable. I’m being one of your truest friends right here, telling you that what you’re doing is wrong and it’s affecting the guys, me, and your connection.” And he respected that decision. We will continue to be brothers. Now, in the future, will I hesitate to believe the things he will say? You have to show it to me through your actions. And going out into the outside world, I’ll still back it up. If we ever get into something where people are talking about Sincere, I’ll back it up. But now I told him, “Since I support you and I am 100% with you, you have to be 100% with me so that we are on the same page.” Now I also have his image in me and I told him so. He understands.
You had a clear connection with Melanie at the beginning of the season. Do you foresee Sincere and Melanie being together after the show? Even Parmida described their relationship as “toxic”, do you agree with her assessment?
When I first got there, I heard a lot about Melanie doing certain things and Sincere felt something about it. Then towards the end, before movie night, it was more of “Sincere do this, Sincere do that now”, so they both had their issues in different scenarios. I mean, it’s toxic for sure, but I feel like the fact that they went through this here, when they get to the outside world they would understand each other. There are only a select few people who go through this experience, so the fact that you went through it together is going to [create] a bond with them. The fact that they had gone through so many ups and downs within the villa was necessary because he had no distractions. But he tried to take advantage of all the distractions: bombs, Casa Amor. He sees how that affected his connection with Melanie. This was almost like a pretrial for him to review his mistakes and know what he has to change in the future.
Have you seen people online calling you CorbinGPT?
Yeah, I’ve seen stuff from CorbinGPT and it’s crazy. I want to say something because I know there’s a lot of talk on the Internet about, “Oh, we have the inside scoop on what the world is saying about us!” Since IA started calling me, I came in like a bombshell. The boys said, “Bro, we’re at the campfire and all we see is you, walking from the front of the village, just walking!” They described: “You’re walking slow, you look very confident, no facial expressions, you just look good, like a fucking light skin! Like they grabbed you from Mount Olympus and left you here in the villa!” And then they say, “Hey, all your gestures, your walk was so animated, it was so AI, you just generated yourself in a lab and you just landed here on ‘Love Island.'” And then I guess because I don’t move in my sleep, they’re like, “Oh, dog, you’re rebooting!” And they started running with the joke and everyone started accepting it in the village. But it’s curious to see it from the outside! It’s funny because at the end of the day I’m being myself.
Lastly, who is your prediction for the winner for Sunday night?
Bryce and Trinity are really strong because of the fact that they were the first couple to make it official and be dating. I was there during that experience and the way they did it was amazing, I really think they have something for each other. I was with Bryce at Casa Amor, I had all the heart-to-heart talks he wanted to have with the kids and his feelings about it, so I understand how much he likes Trinity. I really think they’ll take it home, but then again, KC and Titi are pretty strong! Even from Casa Amor until the moment I left the villa, they have been rock solid. Now you are in my position of being a new couple versus a couple that has been here for a while. I want to see those two, without a doubt, fighting face to face.
