It seems that Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce said “I do” this weekend in the middle of Manhattan.

The Associated Press reports that Swift and Kelce tied the knot at Madison Square Garden on Friday, surrounded by hundreds (or maybe thousands) of their closest friends, family and fans. Welcome to New York, indeed.

While preparation for the event was shrouded in secrecy, Swift and Kelce’s friends and family could be seen entering the venue in black tie on Friday afternoon. At night, digital screens outside the arena read “JUST&T MARRIED,” apparently in reference to Taylor and Travis.

Swift’s representatives did not immediately respond to Business Insider’s questions about the wedding. Still, the AP reported that Adam Sandler officiated the ceremony, with Swift’s brother as his man of honor and Kelce’s brother, Jason, as his best man.

Here’s a rundown of everything we know about Swift and Kelce’s nuptials.

The couple booked Madison Square Garden for three days

In early June, Page Six broke the news that Swift and Kelce were planning to get married at MSG, New York City’s most iconic sports and music venue.

According to TMZ, more than 1,000 guests were expected to attend the ceremony at MSG. The tabloid also reported that Swift and Kelce paid millions to rent the venue for several days. (If true, that shouldn’t be a big deal, since Swift’s net worth recently hit $2 billion. Kelce’s personal fortune is nothing to sneeze at, either.)

The New York Times later corroborated the report, citing an entertainment industry executive who said Swift had rented MSG for July 2 and 3.

Additionally, City Council spokesperson Dora Pekec confirmed to CBS News that a permit was submitted to close the streets surrounding MSG from July 2-4.

Swift has a long history of celebrating Independence Day with friends and family; She is known for hosting lavish parties at her Rhode Island mansion to commemorate summer vacation.

In 2023, shortly after splitting from Matty Healy, Swift celebrated the Fourth of July with a group of friends, including sisters Haim and Selena Gomez. He shared photos from the party on July 7, 2023, the first night at the Eras Tour stop at Arrowhead Stadium, where Kelce first saw Swift.

“Happy belated Independence Day from the independent girls in your neighborhood,” Swift wrote in her Instagram caption. “See you tonight Kansas Cityyy.”

The couple have reportedly “transformed” the place.

Swift and Kelce reportedly hired teams to renovate the interior of MSG. An anonymous source told People magazine: “I’ve never seen him look so different.”

Several trucks have been seen outside the venue in the week leading up to the rumored wedding date. People report that some boxes of equipment were labeled “Mirror Ball” and “Garden Party.”

These may be simple abbreviations to help with preparation, but they could also be Easter eggs for eager Swifties.

Swift has a song called “Mirrorball” from her 2020 album “Folklore.”

As for “Garden Party,” it may be a reference to Swift’s 2012 deep cut, “The Lucky One.” The song, rumored to be inspired by Joni Mitchell, tells the story of a mysterious star who dropped out of the spotlight: “They say you bought a bunch of land somewhere / You chose the rose garden over Madison Square.”

Page Six previously reported that Swift and Kelce are building a castle inside MSG, although People received conflicting reports.

“It’s not a castle, but it looks very special,” a source told People. “They have grass, carpets and canopies, and it looks like a place you would get married. There’s a stage set up, but it’s special.”

The couple wore Dior and Cartier, while the guests wore black tie.

The couple was dressed in Christian Dior Haute Couture, with custom-made shoes by Christian Louboutin, AP reported, adding that Swift wore Cartier jewelry.

Guests at Swift and Kelce’s wedding, including Erin Andrews, were seen entering the venue wearing black tie over the weekend.

Kelce’s brother was his best man and Swift’s brother was his man of honor.

Former NFL player Jason Kelce was best man at his brother Travis’s wedding, and Swift’s brother Austin was her man of honor, the AP reported, citing an email from Swift’s publicist Tree Paine.

Austin Swift, Taylor’s younger brother by about two years, has a somewhat low profile. He has been credited as a producer on some of Taylor’s projects and appeared in photos on the couple’s social media pages.

Kelce’s Coworkers Have Booked Hotel Rooms in Times Square, Reports Say

Citing a source familiar with the accommodations, The New York Times reported that several members of the Kansas City Chiefs booked hotel rooms at the Marriott Marquis in Times Square for the Fourth of July weekend.

Stevie Nicks and Tim McGraw were expected to perform at the ceremony.

Multiple sources told Rolling Stone that Stevie Nicks planned to attend Swift and Kelce’s wedding, and one source said she was planning to perform.

Swift has cited Nicks as one of her biggest musical influences and trusted advisors. For her part, Nicks has repeatedly praised Swift’s songwriting and even wrote an introductory poem for Swift’s 2024 album, “The Tortured Poets Department.”

That same year, Nicks told Rolling Stone that she supports Swift’s relationship with Kelce.

“She’s in a good place right now and I think she has a good man,” Nicks said. “I hope they fall more and more in love and ride off into the sunset. He does his thing and she does her thing, and then they get back together and get married and have babies if she wants. I just want all that for her.”

According to Page Six, Tim McGraw was also scheduled to perform at the event.

This would be a coming full circle moment for Swift, who released her debut single, “Tim McGraw,” 20 years ago.

Swift-Kelce wedding guest list included many celebrities

People seen entering the venue included actors Hugh Jackman, Jason Sudeikis, Dakota Johnson, pop star Ed Sheeran and Swift’s friend and producer Jack Antonoff. Singer-songwriter Camila Cabello also posted a fitness test video from a vehicle on the way to the ceremony.

Swift is known for having a lot of famous friends, so friends like Gigi Hadid, Ashley Avignone, Lena Dunham, Hayley Williams, Benson Boone, Sombr, Gomez and the Haim sisters also seem like favorites for the guest list.

The same goes for her childhood friend Abigail Anderson Berard (yes, the Abigail whose name appeared in two of Swift’s songs: “Fifteen” and “Ruin the Friendship”).

“I hear Taylor invited so many people it’s going to be bigger than the Met Gala,” an industry insider told Page Six.
