The Ukrainian Air Force says a shortage of interceptor missiles meant that none of the 23 ballistic missiles fired by Russia at kyiv on Sunday night were shot down.

At the site of an explosion in Ukraine’s capital, which left a large hole in a residential building, a survivor told BBC correspondent Sarah Rainsford she had been “terrified”.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky warned that Moscow will continue to attack residential buildings as long as Patriot defensive missiles “remain in the reserves of our allies.”

At least 13 people were killed in the second large-scale Russian attack on the Ukrainian capital in a week, officials said. Six more died in the Kyiv region.
